FOAM BLOCKS
Materials:- fabric remnant
- upholstery foam (cut in squares)
- scissors
- needle
- strong thread
Directions:
Cut fabric to cover foam block. Stitch fabric together at edges.
Ideas for Play:
Help Baby to squeeze blocks and transfer them hand to hand.
MILK CARTON BLOCKS
Materials:- two milk cartons
- contact paper
- scissors
Directions:
Cut tops off of milk cartons. Push 2 cartons together. Decorate with contact paper.
Ideas for Play:
Stack blocks for Baby and encourage Baby to knock them down.
WOODEN BLOCKS
Materials:- scraps of wood
- sandpaper
- non-toxic paint
- paintbrush
Directions:
Sand edges of wood smooth. Paint faces, objects or shapes on front and back of block.
Ideas for Play:
Bang blocks with Baby together and on various surfaces.
PLASTIC NESTING CUPS
Materials:- detergent lid
- margarine tub
- cottage cheese container
- large nail
- permanent markers
Directions:
Decorate cups with markers. Punch holes in the bottom and sides of one of the cups.
Ideas for Play:
Play with cups in water. Help Baby to dump and pour and strain water.
