Community Relations Facilitator
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Degree with an educational plan representing upward mobility
- Experience working with infants and toddlers and their families
- In depth knowledge of the language, culture, and resources of the community
- Bilingual in both oral and written communication
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

- Demonstrates ability to communicate and interact sensitively and effectively with parents, infants and toddlers, program staff and the community

PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitates a multicultural learning environment for children and families
- Incorporates a multicultural perspective into groups for parents and children
- Acts as a liaison for children and families with community organizations and agencies
- Translates all program and curriculum materials into the native language of program participants
INDIVIDUAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Acts as a service coordinator and home visitor for up to30 children and their families
- Organizes and maintains child family records needed to facilitate programming and comply with ISBE requirements
- Assesses child and family strengths and needs and develops parent/partnership agreements
- Monitors development of children throughout the year and refers children for further evaluations as needed
- Facilitates child development and reinforces an emergent literacy focus on home visits using consumable toys, books, and writing utensils
PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Protects the privacy and confidentiality of information regarding children, families and colleagues
- Develops an annual plan for professional growth
- Strives for personal and professional excellence, seeking and using new information and ideas, and responding openly to the suggestions of others
