OVERVIEW OF WELLNESS

Objective:   Parents will understand the importance of self-care.

Agenda:

  1. Briefly review adult health care.
  2. Briefly discuss women's health concerns.
  3. Assure parents that wellness care is available to everyone. Make appropriate referrals.

BIRTH CONTROL

Objective:   Parents will understand the various methods of birth control.

Agenda:

  1. Demonstrate and discuss various birth control techniques.
  2. Discuss pro and cons of each technique.
  3. Answer questions and make appropriate referrals. Distribute condoms.

ANNUAL GYNECOLOGY VISITS

Objective:   Parents will gain awareness of the reasons for various tests.

Agenda:

  1. Discuss tests performed at each gynecological visit.
  2. Help in interpreting the results of each test.
  3. Discuss appropriate follow up and medical compliance.

SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES

Objective:   Parents will gain awareness of sexually transmitted disease symptoms and treatment.

Agenda:

  1. Discuss signs and symptoms of disease.
  2. Discuss appropriate treatment and follow up care.
  3. Discuss prevention and distribute condoms.
